(ISC)²® North Bay Chapter (NBC) is a non-profit organization focusing on promoting an interest and growth in the cybersecurity and technical information field. We provide security professionals and future security professionals a platform to collaborate, learn, network, and perform community outreach.
Our mission is to leverage the thought leadership of this chapter to promote cyber safety in our North Bay communities. The (ISC)²® NBC (North Bay Chapter) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in the field of cybersecurity. The North Bay is home to a large segment of the CISOs, ISOs and other cybersecurity professionals and we work to involve many of them in our mission.
Our Goals & Objectives
Chapter Membership Meetings: Members learn, share ideas, and discuss key issues and networking with other members and guests speakers. Cybersecurity topics and discussions will be presented by Chapter Officers, Chapter Members, ISC2 Members, Vendors and other types of speakers.
Annual Programs: Each year the Chapter picks program(s) to administer to the North Bay communities. Our 2022 program was our Mentorship Program: reducing barriers to InfoSec for all with an emphasis on women and minorities through the development of mentorship and coaching programs. Our 2023 programs are currently under development and will be ready by Spring 2023.
Tech Mock Job Interview Program: Help Chapter Members practice their interviewing skills by getting a mock interview with Chapter Members who are experienced managers in the Cybersecurity field. This was part of our 2021 Mentorship Program and will now be on ongoing Chapter Program.
School Outreach: Working with local schools to educate, promote, and inspire the next generations of InfoSec professionals
Chapter Officers develop and administer our annual Chapter plan thru officer monthly meeting, monthly membership meetings and annual Chapter Programs
