(ISC)² North Bay Chapter is an affiliate organization of (ISC)2 based in Novato/Santa Rosa, California and serves to promote the awareness of Information Security throughout the North Bay, Marin and Sonoma Counties. Our mission is to promote diversity and inclusion in the field of Information Security, and to leverage the thought leadership of information security community to remove career barriers for women and minorities in cybersecurity by providing mentorship and coaching programs.
Our chapter program provides members a forum to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas, opportunities for leadership and professional skills, and a voice for the advancement of information systems security. Our members enjoy benefits including discounts on events, merchandise and services, networking, educational and mentoring opportunities and voting privileges. Additionally, members have access to privileged information regarding employment, research, institutional knowledge of information security, chapter information and much more…
Our members consist of individuals interested in the information security field and be either an (ISC)2 members and un-credentialed members. Our chapter program is focused on sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas among cybersecurity professionals in the local area.
We are asking for a $50 annual donation for membership. Since we are a non-profit your donation is tax deductible and we use the donations to hire quality speakers, on chapter expenses and for 1-2 in-person meeting a year for rental space, food, and drinks. Brian Wing – Brian Wing has been working in Information Technology for 25+ years holding positions from helpdesk technician to Sr. Director, IT Operations. Brian holds a BS in information Systems Management from University of San Francisco and an MBA from Sonoma State University. Brian earned CISSP certification in 2021 and is currently Sr. Manager, Engineering Operations at Calix.
Victor Ramensky - Retired ISO Bank of Marin - IT & Security Professional with over 35+ years in IT Management. Computer technologies areas such as Cybersecurity, BI, IT management, software programming, office suites, internet/intranet, communications, networking, databases, business software, and general data analysis, and has held CISSP, CSM, PMP and ITIL certifications.

Nick Eicken - is an IT professional with over twenty years of experience, currently residing in Sonoma County with his wife and two daughters. His technology career was launched through his service in the Army, where he received his initial technical training. After transitioning from military to civilian life, Nick continued to hone his information security skills across various sectors including consulting, nonprofit, local government and private industries, successfully applying his extensive knowledge to solve complex challenges.
In addition to his broad industry experience, Nick is a board member of his local International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) chapter and holds internationally recognized certifications such as the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). These certifications enable him to navigate and address the complexities of cybersecurity, ensuring he can lead at the forefront of industry trends and foster a safer digital environment.
Ian Marlowe (newest board member) - Ian is at the beginning of his professional cybersecurity journey and brings a unique perspective shaped by more than a decade of experience in data recovery, supporting clients ranging from home users to organizations with complex storage systems. Since 2013, Ian has served as a Data Recovery Advisor at DriveSavers, where he coordinates projects involving failed drives, RAID systems, ransomware cases, and forensic data recovery efforts.
Working within a SOC 2–compliant organization, Ian has developed a strong understanding of security and compliance practices while helping clients navigate technical challenges during high-stress data loss situations. He earned his Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) credential from ISC2 in July 2025 and continues to build hands-on experience and expand his technical knowledge through ongoing study.
Ian is passionate about continuous learning, problem-solving, and helping others begin their own cybersecurity journeys. His curiosity, empathy, and dedication to ethical practices reflect his commitment to the ISC2 vision of fostering a safe and secure cyber world.
